Two brothers needed a professionally designed and printed business plan to attract an investor for their innovative restaurant concept, Coal Fire Pizza Company.
Role: Branding, Graphic Design,
& Web Design
As I worked with the brothers to understand their vision for this "first of its kind" pizza restaurant in Utah, I crafted a brand identity to match. While learning about this unique cooking process that only takes 60 seconds and is eco-friendly, I started to understand the problems of educating the possible investors and then getting them to buy into the vision. These same problems were addressed as the responsive website and book were being designed. Addressing these issues and explaining the process up front proved to be the right approach.

As the message was refined to address the issues the design was developed and images were selected. The branded elements were presented to the brothers for approval and final comments.
Once approved the final document as sent to print and the covers were foil embossed with the flame icon for symbolic reasons to spark interest. The branded investment package was delivered on time and on budget and was successful in attracting an investor. But after careful consideration, the brother's went another route and expanded their established restaurant with two more locations.

I've always loved to design things, but my tinkering showed me how things work, which helped me discover that creative problem solving is designing.
