Vantage Exhibit Booth

"For the first time in America, The annual World Routes Expo is the largest gathering of airlines, airports and tourism authorities in the world."

Role: Environmental Design, Branding, Motion Graphics, 3D Modeling & Creative Direction

Vantage Airport Group approached IBI Group to design, coordinate and deliver an exhibit booth for the World Routes Expo.  I took the lead as Creative Director and designed, and managed this 30’ x 30’ exhibit for Vantage that included; a conference room, spa room, bar, two sitting stations that had plug-in ports to charge your devices and a storage area for the employees. After the design was finalized, I acted as the client representative and coordinated the construction and delivery of the exhibit. Designed with two conferences in mind, the first was Las Vegas and the second was Chicago.

Plug-in, Chill-out

" The event was held in the Las Vegas Convention Center and marked the 1st time any Routes event has been held in the USA. It was the largest Routes event to date, and attracted almost 3,000 high profile delegates from more than 100 countries worldwide. "

Vantage's mission statement of 'Passionate about People, Performance and Place' is the guiding force in their brand message. And this carried through in the theming of their booth in Las Vegas. We came up with the theme of "Plug-in, Chill-out" based on research and knowledge of previous Routes events. The first factor in the theme came after noticing that there was a lack of places to recharge your devices at conferences. The second factor in this theme came from all of the hustle and bustle that comes with these conferences, the fact that it was in Las Vegas just added to that. So our design incorporated this into the narrative of Vantage's booth. I designed two tables that had multiple charging stations incorporated into them and a 'Chill-out' room with two massage chairs, music and mood lighting. We also included a bar/beverage station into the design. Having a place to network and a place to work were also incorporated into the design as well by including a private meeting room plus the charging stations were also a place to sit. We really enjoyed Las Vegas and had a very successful event that showcased Vantage's passion and now on to Chicago!

20th Anniversary – Tweet for a Treat

" World Routes returned to the US for the second year in a row after the immense success of Las Vegas.  "

After the successful Las Vegas show, I again worked with Vantage to refine the theme for the Chicago show. We still used their mission statement as the basis, but some new factors came into play, a new city, new clients, and a reason to celebrate, their 20th Anniversary. Because of the 20 years in business, they would, of course, have cake, but we thought they should give out some gift bags too. So we incorporated 'Tweet for a Treat' into the exhibit. We thought a little interactivity with social media and your devices could bring a little fun into your day. So, all the graphics were updated and the spa room was converted into an informal gathering space for more meeting room. I once again acted as the client representative and coordinated the construction and delivery of the exhibit.

This was a fun and challenging experience to create and manage a 30’x30’ branded environment for two different shows in two completely different cities a year apart. But we had great success with both shows!

Vantage's passion shows through in everything they do and at IBI Group we are not only passionate about design, we understand that how people interact with them, tells the success of the project because people give them life! I am proud of the multidisciplinary team that I lead and our partnership with both Vantage and Insight Exhibits left us with fond memories of Las Vegas and Chicago but I look forward to future endeavors together!

ABOUT

I've always loved to design things, but my tinkering showed me how things work, which helped me discover that creative problem solving is designing.
